Year-round Lighthouse and Harbor Tour
11 AM and 1PM Daily
Enjoy an 1 1/2 hour trip aboard, Starfish, our 32 foot lobster/picnic boat. Daily tours at 11 AM and 1PM. Price includes a tour of the Lighthouse, Fort, and historic Newport Harbor. A great deal at just $120 total charge for the boat charter (not per person). Call to reserve.

Fort Adams Festival of Lights, 8 AM – 8 PM. Tree lighting and decorating contest. Stroll the grounds and admire the trees, local high school band performances. Members' New Year's Day Pot Luck Picnic at the Lighthouse
Rose Island Lighthouse Members are invited to bring their family and guests, plus pot luck food and drinks to share. Pots of stew, chili and soup can be heated on a large grill over an open fire. Rose Island Wildlife Refuge CLOSED for Bird Nesting Season
To protect nesting birds, NO ACCESS is allowed to the16-acre Rose Island Wildlife Refuge – no walking or landing boats on the beaches EXCEPT at the Lighthouse. The beaches next to the Lighthouse are the BEST beaches to explore and stay open year-round for school and group tours, overnight "keepers" and special bird-watching tours (conducted by boat). Call for reservations.

28th Annual Meeting of the Rose Island Lighthouse Foundation - 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
This meeting always gets everyone out of the house after a long winter. You can count on listening to an entertaining speaker, delicious hors d'oeuvres, cash bar, seeing friends and neighbors, and a brief business meeting. Check back for more details as we get closer to the date.

July 1 to Sunday,
Sept. 18th - via the Jamestown Ferry.
Lighthouse Public Tours - 10 AM - 4 PM Daily
Step back in time with a guided tour of the self-sufficient Lighthouse and grounds, including 200 year old Ft. Hamilton. Picnic tables and public toilets available. Board the Jamestown-Newport Ferry in Newport or Jamestown for a short ride to Rose Island. Pay for round trip tickets on the Ferry and a small Landing fee when you arrive at Rose Island. No reservation needed.

Bird Nesting Season Restrictions End - Starting on the 15th during regular visiting hours -10 AM to 4 PM - visitors may walk around the island ONLY on the BEACHES and MARKED PATHS. The island interior remains closed. Land boats only on beaches at the Lighthouse. Please pick up beach debris as you go and bring it back to the lighthouse landing to be counted and properly disposed in September.

July-Labor Day - no reservation to visit. The Jtown Ferry provides round trip boat transportation. Outside of summer dates just call us and we'll arrange a tour of the Lighthouse, round trip boat transportation, and more!. The perfect destination for everyone; couples, individuals, scouts, group tours, school tours, and summer camps.

As a permanent legacy all LANDOWNERS’ NAMES are cast in large bronze plaques. Dedication ceremonies are held periodically as the Island For Sale landowner's plaques are filled. Each plaque contains 204 names. We will send notices by email to the purchasers when their plaque is ready to be dedicated.
